Then whoever hearsH8085 the soundH6963 of the trumpet,H7782 and takes not warning;H2094 if the swordH2719 come,H935 and takeH3947 him away, his bloodH1818 shall be on his own head.H7218

Therefore, you sonH1121 of man,H120 sayH559 to the childrenH1121 of your people,H5971 The righteousnessH6666 of the righteousH6662 shall not deliverH5337 him in the dayH3117 of his transgression:H6588 as for the wickednessH7564 of the wicked,H7563 he shall not fallH3782 thereby in the dayH3117 that he turnsH7725 from his wickedness;H7562 neitherH3808 shall the righteousH6662 be ableH3201 to liveH2421 for his righteousness in the dayH3117 that he sins.H2398

When I shall sayH559 to the righteous,H6662 that he shall surely live;H2421 if he trustH982 to his own righteousness,H6666 and commitH6213 iniquity,H5766 allH3605 his righteousnessesH6666 shall not be remembered;H2142 but for his iniquityH5766 that he has committed,H6213 he shall dieH4191 for it.

Again, when I sayH559 to the wicked,H7563 You shall surely die;H4191 if he turnH7725 from his sin,H2403 and doH6213 that which is lawfulH4941 and right;H6666

If the wickedH7563 restoreH7725 the pledge,H2258 giveH7999 againH7999 that he had robbed,H1500 walkH1980 in the statutesH2708 of life,H2416 withoutH1115 committingH6213 iniquity;H5766 he shall surely live,H2421 he shall not die.H4191

And they comeH935 to you as the peopleH5971 comes,H935 and they sitH3427 beforeH6440 you as my people,H5971 and they hearH8085 your words,H1697 but they will not doH6213 them: for with their mouthH6310 they showH6213 much love,H5690 but their heartH3820 goesH1980 afterH310 their covetousness.H1215

And, see,H2009 you are to them as a veryH5690 lovelyH5690 songH7892 of one that has a pleasantH3303 voice,H6963 and can playH5059 well on an instrument: for they hearH8085 your words,H1697 but they doH6213 them not.

And when this comesH935 to pass, (see,H2009 it will come,H935) then shall they knowH3045 that a prophetH5030 has beenH1961 amongH8432 them.
