And SamuelH8050 spokeH559 to allH3605 the houseH1004 of Israel,H3478 saying,H559 IfH518 you do returnH7725 to the LORDH3068 with allH3605 your hearts,H3824 then putH5493 awayH5493 the strangeH5236 godsH430 and AshtarothH6252 from amongH8432 you, and prepareH3559 your heartsH3824 to the LORD,H3068 and serveH5647 him only:H905 and he will deliverH5337 you out of the handH3027 of the Philistines.H6430

And SamuelH8050 said,H559 GatherH6908 allH3605 IsraelH3478 to Mizpeh,H4708 and I will prayH6419 for you to the LORD.H3068

And they gatheredH6908 together to Mizpeh,H4709 and drewH7579 water,H4325 and pouredH8210 it out beforeH6440 the LORD,H3068 and fastedH6684 on that day,H3117 and saidH559 there,H8033 We have sinnedH2398 against the LORD.H3068 And SamuelH8050 judgedH8199 the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 in Mizpeh.H4708

And when the PhilistinesH6430 heardH8085 that the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 were gatheredH6908 together to Mizpeh,H4708 the lordsH5633 of the PhilistinesH6430 wentH5927 up againstH413 Israel.H3478 And when the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 heardH8085 it, they were afraidH3372 of the Philistines.H6430

And the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 saidH559 to Samuel,H8050 CeaseH2790 not to cryH2199 to the LORDH3068 our GodH430 for us, that he will saveH3467 us out of the handH3027 of the Philistines.H6430

And SamuelH8050 tookH3947 a suckingH2461 lamb,H2924 and offeredH5927 it for a burntH5930 offering whollyH3632 to the LORD:H3068 and SamuelH8050 criedH2199 to the LORDH3068 for Israel;H3478 and the LORDH3068 heardH6030 him.

And as SamuelH8050 was offeringH5927 up the burntH5930 offering, the PhilistinesH6430 drew nearH5066 to battleH4421 against Israel:H3478 but the LORDH3068 thunderedH7481 with a greatH1419 thunderH6963 on that dayH3117 on the Philistines,H6430 and discomfitedH1949 them; and they were smittenH5062 before Israel.H3478

Then SamuelH8050 tookH3947 a stone,H68 and setH7760 it betweenH996 MizpehH4709 and Shen,H8129 and calledH7121 the nameH8034 of it Ebenezer,H72 saying,H559 Till nowH5704 H2008 has the LORDH3068 helpedH5826 us.
