January, Early in the morning two pick up tracks, full with people left our church, with the goal to share Good news in another village, up in the mountains. Nong Tao is a small village, located in 15 km from us close to the border with Laos. God put desire in our hearts to make a two-day camp for children there. When God gives an opportunity, He also provides resources for it! Our team was one of the God’s miracles, 26 people, with 5 foreigners and most of them local teen boys and girls who were eager to help. Not only to help, but also to lead! Our local girls, who took CEF training, were able to share the Gospel through Bible story, children’s songs and Bible verses with more than 70 children who came to the camp.
God also took care of presents for children. People from Thailand donated school uniform and shoes, people from Switzerland brought some close, church from the US helped to buy small prizes and snack for children…. Once again we were witnessing the power of Unity of God’s Church from all around the World. Every child got a small present to take home. It was such a joy to see some children who got 1 or 2 items of used clothes and were the happiest people on EarthJ
As we came to prepare the place for the camp, the village chief said that water pump is broken and there is no water. First it sounded like we should change the plan of water games for the second day of our camp, but God had a solution already. As we were cleaning we heard a sound of water and couldn’t believe that water pump started to work! We have more than enough water for all needs and the water tank was flowing because couldn’t hold that much water! God is great!
Another blessing was a good weather during foggy and rainy time, which we really needed for the ride and all the activities outside!
There are even more blessings: New Year event where we had many children and few Thai families; water heater for our volunteers was a big blessing when the temperature sometimes reached 5-7C (and it’s the same inside the house as outside;);new children who are coming for evening school; our helpers with children; girls who learned playing few songs on the piano and can participate in Church; young lady who came just in a perfect time to help with the camp even for such a short time….we had even and more and more are coming.
Our “Avoda” team is very grateful for everyone who participating in this ministry.Your prayers, donations and even presence are big encouragement and we believe brings glory to God and shows Gods love to people.
Please pray with us for:
- Our Church members to grow in Christ and for God to raise future leaders (especially men)
- Everyone who heard the Gospel in the camp
- For our girls who finishing school this year, for their next step in education
- For God to send the right person to help in teaching English as our helpers girls are leaving to study in another city
- For us as the leaders, that God would continue guide and give wisdom in every decision.
